The Pink Panther 2

After The Pink Panther 1 finished, Colombia Pictures continues to represent the second season movie that called The Pink Panther 2. The movie takes place in French.  Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) still as the main character in this movie. Additionally, this second season movie is still focus about Inspector Jacques Clouseau. He is a police detective who legendary in French.

The world was uproarred of the missing of priceless artifact of England, Italy, and Japan by “The Tornado”. Then, the French government decided to make a detective team to analyze those cases that called “The Dream Team”. This team consisted of the best detectives all over the world. They are Inspector Pepperidge (from British), Vincenzo (a wealthy entrepreneur from Italy), Kenji (the expert of technology from Japan) dan Sonia (criminologist from India). The chief inspector, Charles Dreyfus was forced to take Clouseau in this team. Then, he ordered Clouseau to go to Japan. Initially, Clousaeau refused it because of worried about The Pink Panther (the priceless artifact in Paris) would be stolen again. Unfortunately, Dreyfus stood for that assignment as a command, so Clouseau accepted it.

Factually, when Clouseau would live the airport, The Pink Panther directly stole by The Tornado. Then, this police detective revealed the mystery of stolen The Pink Panther with his team. He had to indentify the thief who called The Tornado and the thief of Magna Carta. Naturally, they worked very carefully and accurately to solved the cases. One day, The Tornado killed himself and returned all of the things that he already stole, except The Pink Panther. The Dream Team considered that this priceless artifact became destroyed by its thief. Unfortunately, Clouseau fired from The Dream Team.

Who is The Tornado exactly? Why did he steal The Pink Panther? Why Clouseau fired from The Dream Team? Based on the story told that he Tornado is dead, is it means that the cases had been done? To find out the answer of those questions, you must watch The Pink Panther 2! Absolutely, I have to say that this movie was so funny, outstanding, and extremely entertaining.

I like this movie because it made me could not wait the scene by scene. Then, I love the acting of Steve Martin because it was very extraordinary by the foolish things that he did to catch the thief. The twists on this movie made me could not stop laughing. However, the plot was not interesting and very ordinary, but the twist on the movie could release our stress after watching it.

Corporal Punishment for Student Controversy

            Imagine if you make a mistake in your class. Then you get a corporal punishment from your teacher. What do you feel? Annoyed? Embarrassed? Or you decide to move to another school soon? I guess that you will choose deciding to move to another school. It causes of many children in generally will feel that is a traumatic mental of their life. So, they will choose to move out. Then, most of teachers do not think the effects of what they already done. They only assume that corporal punishment is a way of giving lesson to make their student not to do the same mistake anymore. However the corporal punishment is forbidden in school, but there are some teachers who still do that. Therefore, following reasons will show why corporal punishment is controversial.

            The corporal punishment is appropriate to make the students leery of their mistake. Nowadays, most of children are naughtier than children in the past time. They are more aggressive and less of manner. Primarily, the tightly school rules is the main cause of the student naughtiness in the school or outside of school. In this case, the school teacher cannot handle it by advice and warning to the student. Generally, a teacher does not know that his emotional already make him lost control to the student. The type of teacher like this as a rule thinks that the student will be more restrained and more obedient to him by those punishments. In fact, most of parts of Eastern Asia (including China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea) corporal punishment for student are legal, but not particularly encouraged. They believe that corporal punishment is necessary and appropriate to make the student discipline of school rules. Thus, the teachers apply the corporal punishment to the student, especially to obey the school rules.

            Despite the reasons why the corporal punishment has advantages, it is also has disadvantages. Firstly, it makes a student stuck in psychology traumatic. According to Cohen's 1996 study, a student who receives corporal punishment may resort to more physical aggression, substance, abuse, crime and violence. Moreover, he may become afraid, confused to decide the right or the wrong side of thing, worried, even he will become aggressive and unauthorized person. Beside of those effects, the hatred also occurs to a student. He becomes less communication, especially to his teachers and avoids them. After that, the hatred changes to an avenged that motivates him to do the same violence to his teacher (if he has a chance), or releases it to other people.

            The second one effect of corporal punishment is rebellion. It is generally agreed that corporal punishment for a student will not makes him discipline, but he usually will oppose and do anything that opposite from his teacher rule. Additionally, the hypocrisy characteristics can develop in himself. It caused of he afraid of makes a mistake in front of his teachers, but will do anything what he want if there is no teachers. So, the rebellion will make a student have a hypocrisy character.

            However, corporal punishment has advantages mainly to discipline a student, but also has the disadvantages such as cause of psychology traumatic and a rebellion to the teacher. The principle of “consequent” is teaching a student to discipline. A student should give a chance to choose, even though it is wrong and he wants to regret of his mistakes with responsibility. The most important, a student will have ability to solve himself problems by the better ways. Furthermore, a school can carry out its character as education institution that can increase the quality of the student’s manner. As a result, it is the best thing if the corporal punishment for the student disappears from the school.
